31 Backpacks

31 Backpacks is a non-profit organization that sends food home in backpacks every Friday and school breaks for eligible children.

Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 207 is chartered by Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Hancock, MI and serves Houghton, Hancock, and the surrounding areas. Boys ages 11-17 experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness.

Habitat for Humanity with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The local Habitat office is located in the lower level of Gloria Dei’s church building.

Little Brothers

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly is a national network of non-profit, volunteer-based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. They offer to people of good will the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and the celebration of life.

Noteworthy

Noteworthy is an all women’s a cappella barbershop group that uses their love of music to raise money for local charities. Noteworthy meets weekly in the lower level of Gloria Dei’s church building.

The mission of the Omega House is provide a homelike environment where people at the end of life may live fully, receiving compassionate and competent care from professional, volunteer, and family caregivers.
