In addition to our congregation Council, we have different teams that oversee the ministry of Gloria Dei. Contact the team leader or church office for ways you can be involved.
Core Ministry Teams
Worship & Music Team
Team Leader: Pr. Brahm
If it has anything to do with worship, the Worship & Music Team tends to it. From selecting hymns and choosing what liturgical setting to use, to monitoring the condition of the various worship furnishings, to prepping the Altar Guild and Ushering teams, to hiring accompanists and choir directors, the Worship & Music Team is responsible for all aspects of Gloria Dei’s worship life.
Youth & Education Team
Team Leader: Jen Mattila
Ensuring there are opportunities for Gloria Dei to grow spiritually, this team provides structured learning experiences for all ages.
Faith In Action Team
Team Leader: Shelby Hamar
Ready to mobilize Gloria Dei to put our faith in action, this team keeps an eye on the needs of the local community and organizes efforts to address those needs. This team also engages Gloria Dei with the needs of the wider church, both nationally and internationally, giving particular attention to our companion church in Tanzania.
Supporting Ministry Teams
Finance Team
Team Leader: Brian Jarvis
The Finance Team monthly monitors the financial position of Gloria Dei and makes recommendations to the congregation Council regarding Gloria Dei’s expenditures. This team also assists the congregation Council with the preparation of Gloria Dei’s annual budget.
Memorials Team
Team Leader: John Vaara
Gifts made to Gloria Dei in memory of someone are managed by the Memorials Team. The Memorials Team is careful to respect the wishes of donor families and the needs of Gloria Dei.
Endowment Team
Team Leader: Travis Hanson
The Endowment Team manages legacy gifts given to Gloria Dei’s endowment. Every year the Endowment Team makes disbursements from the endowment to support 1) capital improvements, 2) scholarships, 3) community outreach, and 4) missions of the ELCA.
Columbarium Team
Team Leader: Wayne Stordahl
Gloria Dei has a columbarium on site, with plans to construct two more as needed. The Columbarium Team reviews niche requests and assists families with the placement of their loved one’s cremains.
Property Team

The Property Team oversees the maintenance and enhancements of Gloria Dei’s buildings and grounds, keeping an eye on ways to improve the efficiency of our energy usage.
Jacobsville Chapel Team
Team Leader: Stephen Smith
There are a team of people who are passionate about the summer ministry of Gloria Dei’s historic Jacobsville Chapel. They ensure the Chapel is maintained and that weekly worship services are conducted seamlessly.
